Plans for a new development in the centre of Burnham Market were put on show by Fleur Developments last weekend.
Incorporating 32 homes and a car park for 196 vehicles plus a set of public toilets, the Foundry Field proposal received favourable comments at the consultation.
Joff Brooker from Fleur Developments said “This has been one of the most positive projects that I have worked on in recent years. Residents’ comments have included: This sounds like and exciting development for the village, and There is a desperate need for parking and toilet facilities – I suggest you get on with it.”
Parish Councillor Roslie Monbiot said: “Fleur Developments listened to comments from local people and designed a sensitive development for the village. The land for a car park was first offered 37 years ago by the then owners so we have waited a long time for this to happen.”
Norfolk County Councillor Richard Bird said: “It is heart-warming to see a project where there is agreement between the Parish Council and local businesses on the way a development progresses, and today residents have told me that they are looking forward to their new car park.”
