Four businesses have come together to launch a new marketing initiative for coastal towns and cities around the UK with Hunstanton and the surrounding areas being the first to experience their state of the art multi-channel marketing machine to promote businesses and encourage more visitors.
The team of Krystian Tatum (Destinations Travel), Debbie Harrington (Norfolk Home and Garden), Stella Gooch (Hunstanton on Line) and Tim Hurrell (Liquid Creative) have created a website, a mobile app with live updates, touch screen information points and printed maps.
Designed to provide the visitor with everything they need to know about the local area, the website and app is divided into four categories: accommodation, attractions, shopping and food and drink. It also includes other information such as forthcoming events and traffic news.
Debbie Harrington said: “Local businesses can choose from different levels of support and inclusion in our website, app and printed material, with varying subscription options.”
At the launch on Friday in Destinations in Hunstanton’s High Street, the first of the touch screen terminals was in operation. Stella Gooch described the website as: “The biggest change in development of our local community websites in ten years.”
In addition to the proposed seven to ten touchscreen terminals in high traffic areas of the resort, boards will soon be erected in key areas around the town with the QR code for people to scan.
The first business to sign up up for the scheme at the launch were Holger Levy from The Sunset Inn on Northgate and Heidi Milner from The Hunny Café.
