On Thursday 12th March the weather was bright and perfect for the Glebe House School’s cross-country races on the Sandringham Estate.
All the competitors were taken through the woods to review the course by sports teacher Mr Turner, marshals took up their positions and, cheered on by a strong number of parents, the Division ll & lll race began with strong running from Jules Jamieson and Ruby Turner-Smith followed by some very determined Division ll boys.
This set the pace for the older age groups with a very closely fought contest between Piers Henderson and Lucas Triffitt in the lV/V race and a similar battle for 2nd place in the senior age group between Ben Zebedee and Max March behind Sam Stonebridge who was a thoroughly impressive champion. The girls who competed recently in the County Championships, Molly Sisman and Emily Minney, confirmed their ability in their race as did Olivia Delph who was a clear winner in the senior girls.
The medallists were:
Junior Boys
Gold: Jules Jamieson
Silver : Thomas Hill
Bronze : Ferdi Macewan
Junior Girls
Gold : Ruby Turner-Smith
Silver : Allie Ashby-Dotzenko
Bronze : Emelia King

Senior Boys

The spirit was great with genuine applause for all competitors and it was appropriate that each House won one age group : Juniors - St Edmund’s, Intermediates - Barber’s and Seniors - L’Estrange.
